Barking Dog
Wine LabelThis label design was created to display my abilities across the major design categories of typography, color and illustration. The label was rendered in Adobe Illustrator and is meant to call to mind the craft beer labels, which have become an increasingly popular design for wine labels

City Paper Cover
This cover mockup was laid out in InDesign with all of the illustrations created in Illustrator. The use of complementary colors, combined with the more soothing shades of green in the background result in a cover that brings attention to the headlines but still reads as a cohesive design.
-
Newsweek Layout
This mockup of a Newsweek layout aims to mimic the magazine's very conservative design while bringing more visual interest to the cover (that is what sells magazines after all). The images were manipulated in Photoshop and the layout was done in InDesign.

On the Way Cafe
The purpose here was to create a logo for a coffee shop that could work on multiple advertising platforms (as all good logos should). The color palette is fun but bold and it is just striking in black and white as it is in color.

Lobos Brochure
Using vacation photos of beautiful Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, CA, this mockup of a gate fold brochure makes use of a complex grid system. This underlying grid is best displayed in the boxes and striping of the vertical interior layout. This vertical layout was the best and most visually striking solution for displaying such a large amount of diverse content.

Lake View Inn Brochure
With the help of more vacation photos, this barrel fold brochure displays a more fluid layout. The large panels that the viewer first encounters create an invitation to proceed to the interior of the brochure. The interior makes the best use of of the available images while still communicating the pertinent visitor information in a organized way.

Philadelphia Zoo Mailer
This mockup of a mailer for the Philadelphia Zoo conveys a great deal of information in a stylish way. The color palette and geometric design elements create a cohesive booklet without distracting the reader from the photographs. This is also accomplished by giving the photographs on the cover a bleed just like the geometric elements throughout.

April Poster
This poster was created in Adobe Illustrator. I used complex layering techniques on the type and pushed the three dimensionality of the flowers in order to better illustrate the Wallace Stevens quote.

Pleasantly Pink Grapefruit
This package design and its illustrations were created in Adobe Illustrator. The playful colors exude the fresh and tart scents of a citrus perfume. The simple, bold designs could easily be used for other packaging of the same scent (candles, lotion, soap, etc.) making it a versatile design for a beauty product line.

Perfume Bottles
The goal here was to create a variety of perfume bottles. These three bottles show the different moods and scents that can be evoked through bottle design. The orange bottle would be appropriate for a warm, spiced scent, the teal bottle would be perfect for fresh ocean aroma and the purple would do well as a vessel for something floral.
